The College is delighted to offer its congratulations to the following individuals and practices that have had success in the College’s awards since the last issue of hoolet.

QPA (Quality Practice Award)
Dr Alexander and Partners of Newton Port Surgery, in Haddington were awarded on the 5 June. This brings the total for QPA practices in Scotland to 46.

Practice Accreditation
The numbers of practices successfully completing the Practice Accreditation scheme are steadily rising with 391 successful practices to date. There are currently a further 220 practices in Scotland working towards it. Updated details of awarded practices can be found on our website at

MAP (Membership by Assessment of Performance)

Dr Rob Lawson, Haddington

Dr Jane McIntyre, Dundee

This brings the total number of MAP Awards in Scotland to 7, with a further 27 individuals working towards it.

FBA (Fellowship by Assessment)

Dr Geoffrey Headden, Argyll

Dr David Cunningham, Irvine

37 members in Scotland have now received Fellowship of the College via this route.
