REVALIDATION - IN BRIEF

Revalidation folder RCGP Scotland has been working in close consultation with SGPC, NES and the GMC on producing a range of tools to help GPs meet the requirements of revalidation.

A Revalidation Folder was distributed to all GP principals in Scotland in July 2003. The folder takes account of the availability of evidence produced as a result of the practice accreditation schemes (RCGP Practice Accreditation, Training Practice Accreditation and Quality Practice Award) and the Scottish GP Appraisal Scheme. Further copies are available from the RCGP Scotland website at : www.rcgp-scotland.org.uk

In addition to the folder, a pack of useful tools and methods which can assist in providing evidence for appraisal and revalidation has been collated. It is anticipated that copies of the Revalidation Toolkit will be available for distribution to all GP Principals by the end of September 2003. The Toolkit will also be available online from the RCGP Scotland and NHS Education for Scotland websites. It is likely that updates will only be made to the electronic version.
