One such event is the popular annual national GP Registrar Study Day which is aimed at encouraging GP Registrars to come and hear about issues that are currently affecting the profession and in turn challenge them to consider how these might impact on each of them as they move towards taking the MRCGP exam. At this year’s event, we aim to once again cover important issues for GP Registrars and key Scottish speakers have been invited to share their knowledge and expertise. Throughout the day, various short presentations will be offered including: NEW Top Tips and Hot Topics for the MRCGP exam; Increasing Public Accountability; the new GP Contract and Developing Quality Standards; Ethical Dilemmas; and the Law and General Practice - all of which are valuable topics in preparation for the MRCGP exam. If you are a GP Trainer, please encourage the GP Registrars in your practice to attend this important event. If you are a GP Registrar - book now to secure your place and we look forward to meeting you on the day!

Why Change professional practice? Persuasive reasons can be found in the values of NHS Quality Improvement Scotland:
All of these values imply willingness to change and encourage innovation. The topics for this meeting have been chosen because we think that they are important to the public and address three of their key concerns; patient safety, quality of services and communication across the interface between primary and secondary care. The issues affect all people responsible for Clinical effectiveness and Quality Improvements in primary and secondary care.
