![]() THE FUTURE FENERAL PRACTITIONER MRCGPBy The College “I found it very useful, gives a positive outlook for the future of general practice” The College in Scotland is continually supporting GP Registrars through a number of initiatives. One such event is the popular annual national GP Registrar Study Day which is aimed at encouraging GP Registrars throughout the whole of Scotland to come and hear about issues that are currently affecting the profession and in turn challenge them to consider how these might impact on them individually as they move towards taking the MRCGP exam. On 20 February 2004, the RCGP Scotland held its fourth GP Registrar Study Day entitled ‘The Future General Practitioner MRCGP’. This was a particularly lively event and interest far exceeded expectations with over 120 delegates attending the event. “Well organised, enthusiastic and knowledgeable speakers” The day offered the opportunity to hear topics on a wide range of issues affecting General Practice today. Just a few of the items that captured the audience’s attention included:
“Thought provoking, interesting topics; broadening awareness of various issues” Preparation is already underway for next year’s conference and, once again, we expect to accommodate increasing numbers of GP Registrars, as they and their trainers hear about the value of the day. “Enjoyable and interesting! Raised many questions and topics for reflection”
