SHEEP OF THE QUARTER
Not everyone appreciates owls as much as we do at hoolet. Not everyone understands why we collect owls and have pages devoted to them. The owl is a symbol of the RCGP and although they are now seen as gentle, wise beings, they were symbols of death and mayhem in earlier times.
In response to those who are not so keen on owls we are starting a page for sheep enthusiasts. Susan Butler has kicked us off with two startling photos of her sheep. We look forward to many more pictures of ovine beauty from around the world.

Susan Woldenburg Butler from New Zealand sent hoolet a photo of her sheep. She writes: "The sheep's noses are out of joint. Attached is a recent noire photo of Eartha and Lady Roseann, the latter caught in the act of performing her favourite activity (eating), which has led to her being described by a farmer friend as 'as big as a Shetland pony.' "

Lady Roseann has also instructed me to tell you she modelled for a cookbook
I desktop published last September called 'Midlands Morsels: favourite
recipes from the heart of Tasmania, (mostly).' Attached please find her
graceful self adorning 'Lamb shank casserole' and, reversed, 'Lamb with
garlic potatoes.' She's grown since that photo. It was taken at ten months;
she's now twenty months and the size of a Shetland pony.
